Join us for a seminar on Ecolinguistics and the Welsh Language.
Join us for an intimate seminar and conversation circle on Saturday morning led by singer-songwriter, poet and language academic Steve Eaves. As part of the wider series of events 'Taith Iaith, Tir a Perthyn', this session will focus strongly on eco-linguistics; the study of how language interacts with our natural environment. Steve will guide us through a deep but accessible examination of language awareness, showing how the Welsh language acts as a unique window to a different world view, which has deep roots.
Special Welcome to Welsh Learners!
This is an inclusive and supportive space. Although Welsh will be the main language of the discussion, a very warm welcome is extended to experienced Welsh learners who are looking to challenge themselves, deepen their vocabulary, and engage in meaningful discussions about culture and ecology.
What to Expect:
- An engaging Talk: A relaxed and interesting presentation by Steve Eaves on the eco-linguistics and landscape heritage of Wales.
- Open Conversation: An intimate group discussion where everyone is welcome to share thoughts, local words, and reflections.
- A cuppa and cake: Finish the morning by connecting with fellow attendees over a warm cup of tea or coffee and a delicious slice of cake.
Tickets are strictly limited to keep the group close and foster open conversation. Book early to secure your seat and your slice of cake!
