Are you curious about the natural world? Join us for a fun, hands-on BioBlitz in the amazing forest next to Plas Glyn-y-Weddw!
BioBlitz is a quick race against time to create a snapshot of the biodiversity of a given area. Guided by local wildlife experts, we will explore the canopy, forest floor and undergrowth to record as many species of plants, insects, birds, mammals and fungi as we can find.
Whether you're an expert or a family looking for a unique day out, your discoveries will contribute directly to vital conservation efforts.
What to Expect on the Day:
You can drop in for an hour or stay for the whole event! We will have rotating guided activities running throughout the session:
*Bug Hunting: Search through log piles and sweep nets through ferns to discover the woodland's little beasts.
*Bird and Canopy Walks: See and identify local birds. Do you have a pair of binoculars? Bring them with you!
*Plants and Fungi: Learn to identify native trees, ferns and hidden mushrooms.
Important:
Bring suitable clothing for walking through forests.
Free entry!
