Time: 16:30 – 21:00
Location: Nwdl, Abersoch
Tickets: £20 per person
Join us for a special Coed Coexist gathering: an evening of noodle making, cultural exchange, and shared food hosted at Nwdl in Abersoch. This workshop features Togo Miyashita, a visiting young woodworker and the third generation of Kurumaya, a renowned soba restaurant in Tokyo. Togo is currently participating in the Coed Coexist artist-in-residence exchange project, hosted and funded by Plas Glyn-y-Weddw in cooperation with John Egan and Junko Mori.
Throughout the night, Togo and Junko will demonstrate the art of making soba, udon, and ramen noodles. Participants will then get hands-on experience collectively making udon noodles, which will be cooked and enjoyed together with freshly prepared broths and toppings by Junko, Togo, and Nwdl hosts Owen and Dave.
*Please note that due to capacity, participants will take part in selected stages of the udon-making process collectively, rather than making their own full batch individually from start to finish.
This gathering aims to connect the Coed Coexist community with our visiting resident artist while offering the chance to learn about traditional noodle-making and exchange ideas in a relaxed, communal setting.
