A gathering day - (To the) heart of the matter

This day explores our shared connection to the sea: its stories, its ecologies, its temporalities, its rhythms. In these times of global climate emergency, the sea is both threat and threatened: as rising global temperatures cause sea levels to rise, the sea’s sheer power to destroy human life contrasts starkly with its delicate vulnerable ecologies that are threatened by these very same global forces. Through a series of artist-led activities, conversations and workshops, we will together embark on a sensorial exploration of Angela Davies’ exhibition At Galon y Gwir, reflecting on the sea’s mythic and material role in our lives.
