We are delighted to announce that we are relaunching the Eirian Llwyd Memorial Award in cooperation with the Arts Council of Wales.
Eirian Llwyd was a distinguished printmaker and founder of Y Lle Print Gwreiddiol. Eirian inaugurated a Memorial Trust, established in her name to provide financial awards for new and upcoming Wales-based artists who specialise in the medium of printmaking.
With this support, we are delighted to offer the award to one artist. To mark the 10th year anniversary of the Memorial Prize the winner this year will win £5,000, double the previous awards.
Gallery curators and print centres in Wales have the opportunity to nominate an artist whom they feel would benefit the most from this unique opportunity and who has shown outstanding dedication and creative talent in their field of printmaking. This year, a printmaker can nominate themselves for the award, through the submission of a digital portfolio of their work and securing a reference from a curator or other arts professional.
Shortlisted nominees will be exhibited here at the Plas in our Eirian Llwyd Memorial print exhibition from February to March 2025.
The nomination deadline will be at 5pm on 13th of November 2024
