Freelance: Approx 10 days (across weekdays and weekends)
Fee: £1500
Contract: April 2026 - October 2026
Reports to: Plas Glyn-y-Weddw Curator and Marketing Officer
Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, situated in Llanbedrog on the scenic Llŷn Peninsula, is an ideal venue to inspire both artists and audiences. As one of Wales' oldest galleries housed in a historic Victorian Gothic mansion, the venue offers year-round free entry and hosts a dynamic programme of contemporary and historical art exhibitions. Beyond its captivating architecture and serene woodland surroundings, including part of the Wales Coastal Path, PGyW remains committed to promoting Welsh artists and ensuring the arts are accessible and enriching for all.
FFYNNU is a 12-month pilot residency and engagement programme based at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw (PGyW) and across Pen Llŷn, that will explore how artists and communities can work together to understand and respond to climate change and climate justice in a rural and coastal context.
Developed in partnership with Ecoamgueddfa Llŷn and funded by the Arts Council of Wales, FFYNNU offers the opportunity for Plas Glyn-y-Weddw and other sites across Pen Llŷn to be places for creative exploration, reflection and having a role in climate action.
The FFYNNU Residency Marketing & Publicity Assistant will support Plas Glyn-y-Weddw’s Marketing Officer, Curator and Engagement Officer as well as the wider Plas Glyn-y-Weddw team in assisting with marketing and publicity of the entirety of the FFYNNU residency project. This role is vital in supporting the promotion and communication of the residencies, engagement and public programmes to a wide audience, working with artists, partners, mentors and stakeholders.
The Assistant will be based predominantly at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw but they may need to travel to other projects sites. It is possible that some of the work can be undertaken remotely.
