Following the Coed Coexist symposium in September 2024, creative practitioners connected to Pen Llŷn and the wider Gwynedd area were invited to collect wood from a fallen beech tree at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw and take part in the next phase of the project. The tree became a central element of Coed Coexist, both symbolically and physically.
Practitioners worked with the material to create new work for the Coed Coexist exhibition (May–July 2026), with a number of larger commissioned projects also developed as part of the programme.
All materials were allocated on a first-come basis and have now been fully collected.
We are grateful to everyone who took part and contributed to the ongoing life of the beech tree through their work.
