Angela Davies, is a Wrexham born artist. Her work negotiates support systems and the fragile networks they carry. Spanning scale and processes, Davies is often drawn to using organic materials to explore ideas of transformation. She works across drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video and performance.
Davies completed her Masters at Manchester School of Art in 2013. Her work has been exhibited at Fosun Foundation, Shanghai, Currents, Sante Fe, Glynn Vivian, Swansea, IKT/Mostyn, Llandudno, S12 Galleri Bergen, Norway, V2 Lab for the Unstable Media, Netherlands, Pontio, Bangor and Meno Parkas Galerija, Lithuania.
In 2022 Angela was awarded a Future Wales Fellowship. Other selected awards include Arts Council of Wales Creative Wales Award, ESRC Impact Accelerator Award at Bangor University, Innovate UK, A-N for participation in ISEA14.
She has held residencies at Alps Art Academy, National Theatre Wales, HOME Manchester, Pervasive Media Studio Bristol and Cadw. With commissions undertaken for Arts Council of Wales, the National Trust and BBC Connected Studios with NESTA. Her work is within both public and private collections.
Davies co-founder with Mark Eaglen of StudioMADE - a cross-disciplinary studio within Denbigh, Wales.
