If you value the heritage of the Llŷn Peninsula and understand and appreciate the work of our Arts Centre and Museum – if you have enjoyed the chance to see our exhibitions or have benefited from the lectures and events and other services which we provide, leaving a legacy is the perfect way of securing the long-term security of Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, which is a registered charity. We are largely self funded and survive from one year to the next thanks to the generosity of donors and friends of the charity.

Gifts and legacies to Plas Glyn-y-Weddw of whatever value are exempt from Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and aggregation. Because of this all your legacy would be applied to carrying out your wishes without being diminished by taxation.

You could leave us a legacy of a fixed amount. Some people might prefer to postpone a legacy until after the death of a surviving spouse. In suitable cases the gift could be of a share of residue, which might ensure that the gift maintains its value in real terms or produces a fairer division of your estate.

The Charity's full name and particulars to be mentioned in any gift are ‘Plas Glyn-y-Weddw Cyf. Llanbedrog, Pwllheli, Gwynedd LL53 7TT'; registered charity number 1070495’. Whoever draws up the wording of the gift will need to know this.

It is possible to make a gift by will or codicil without legal advice provided certain rules are strictly followed, but, particularly if it could be at all complicated, legal advice is advisable. For more information or suggestions you or your legal adviser should consult the Director at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw.
