Daniel Roberson was born near London in 1975. He lives and works in Machynlleth, Mid Wales. His studio is perched on top of a hill surrounded by sheep.

Since completing his Masters Degree in Fine Art from Aberystwyth University in 2011 (for which he was awarded a distinction), Daniel has been painting with a new sense of freedom, at times edging towards abstraction. His pallet has increased and he has enjoyed making a visual record of the people and land that surround and inspire him.

Here we see a series of paintings exploring our relationship with the landscape, mythology and other creatures; some based on traditional Welsh folk tales, others with an imagined narrative that is an interpretation of my young children’s enthusiastic response to the hills and forests that surround us.

"I hope the viewer can use my paintings as a starting point to create their own tales, we are all storytellers"
