Julie is married with two daughters and five grandchildren and lives in Llangwnadl on the northern coast of Llŷn and is inspired by her surroundings.
“I walk daily along the headland and beach and lucky to witness sunsets over the sea from the comfort of my home. We are also blessed with several quaint cottages with character dotted around the village.
I have recently taken up free-motion embroidery and applique work and I have produced these works from photographs I have taken.
I have been creating my artwork since September 2017 as therapy for severe depression and anxiety. Producing the artwork has been a contributing factor in my continued recovery.
This is my second exhibition of my work, my first being Gwyl Gelf Llyn Arts Festival May 2018, and have completed recent commissions from photographs.
Although I have no background in art I have self-taught free-motion embroidery and from this created the textile artwork I now produce. “
