Blair Grant lives with his family in the home of his great great grandfather Dr Gwynogfryn Evans, Pen Llyn North Wales. Having family on Scotland's west coast, Blair finds plenty of inspiration painting Welsh and Scottish scenery whilst out painting with his good friend and fellow plein air artist Sion McIntyre.
They call themselves 'The Pleinairists'.
Whether an ocean scene, sturdy welsh cottage in Snowdonia or tumbledown crofthouse down a rough trod lane, a west coast scene is painted with solid pallet knife techniques and energetic daubed brushstrokes. His favoured medium is oil paint.
Blair studied at London Road Art College, then graphic design at Hertford College of art and design, then Fine Art and Illustration at North East Wales Art Institute under the tuition of Richard Hore. Later he worked alongside Tony Goble in Llanover Hall, Cardiff.
He has exhibited in The Strand, London; MOMA, Machynlleth; Larks Gallery, Ballater, Aberdeenshire; Ceu Pennant, Llanberis; Gray Thomas Gallery, Caernarfon and The Jetty Gallery, Oban, Argyll.
