Born in Crawley, East Sussex in July 1975, Rhian then relocated to Anglesey when she was six months old. Living there for most of her life, with a brief time spent living in Wiltshire during her formative years.
In 1998 Rhian completed her art foundation at Coleg Menai in Bangor, before going on to obtain her BA (Hons) in Painting and Sculpture from Bath Spa University in 2001. She then went on to complete a PGCE at Bangor University, prior to moving to England to teach art at Sittingbourne Community College.
She returned to the island in 2009 following the birth of her son. Since her return she has worked at Coleg Menai Further Education College, teaching and supporting students on media and
Rhian’s artwork has always been deeply personal to her, with past works having
explored the need for emotional support and comfort in childhood, to
loving and supportive relationships in adulthood. She works in 3D, producing
soft sculptures in luxurious fabrics, and 2D, concentrating on fine technical
Drawings as well as large, expressive and figurative pieces.
