At the age of 16 I designed a 50 pence coin for the Royal Mint to commemorate the Olympic games in 2012. This achievement sparked a specific interest in drawing that has driven my visual journey through to the present day. I am currently in the final stages of a BA (hons) Drawing degree at Falmouth University based in Cornwall, UK. This is a hub for marine activity in Britain; therefore many aspects of maritime life have naturally been central to my practice.

Since living and studying on the coast I have become fascinated by the detrimental effect of time that is evident on abandoned building and vessels. I find these subjects to emit an atmosphere that I attempt to capture within my drawings. I can only fully understand these subjects both visually and sensually from spending many hours drawing them, in all variations of weather and light. These observational drawings then feed more sustained work that I make in varied mediums including collage, acrylic and pastel.
