Mary Chaplin is a French professional artist working mainly with pastel.
“Painting is the main food of my life. I find my balance in creativity. I have been a professional painter for a long time, working on non-figurative and figurative works mainly inspired by light and nature. I cannot get bored with it; it is not only my work but also my way of life.”
A visit to Eifionydd in 2003 made a great impression on her and was a great inspiration to her work. She fell in love with the landscapes and mainly with the old trees along the roads and paths and was fascinated by light reflections in a chapel she visited in the area.
She has now developed an abstract way of looking at her subjects and by today her work demonstrates how the abstract as met the figurative way.
