Artist: Eleri Jones

Artist’s Statement

Eleri Jones was born in 1974 in Abergele, Conwy. She attended Creuddyn Secondary School before completing a Foundation Course at Coleg Menai, Bangor. Eleri gained a BA Degree in Fine Art from Cardiff University and then returned to Bangor to complete a teaching Degree.

Eleri Jones has exhibited extensively throughout Wales in the past ten years – One man exhibitions at The Galeri, Caernarfon, Venue Cymru, Llandudno and across the water in Dublin Ireland. She has also been in many mixed shows across the country from the Atrium Gallery in London to the National Eisteddfod in Anglesey.

Since 1998 Eleri has held all kinds of different art workshops and residencies, from a Buddist school in Sri Lanka, a castle in Ireland to the Childrens’ ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Although influenced by the different experiences Eleri still finds herself driven by her agricultural upbringing and spends many hours studying farmers at work.
