Gareth Jenkins is a 39 year old photographer who has been making a name for himself since turning his attention towards his camera in 2005 in favour of being a computer technician. Gareth is a keen traveller, and after leaving his post with IBM in Portsmouth he explored Egypt, the Pacific Islands, north and south America and the whole of Europe before going to the Antartica in 2007.
Gareth gained a Fellowship of the Royal Photography Society in 2009 and he has already won two prizes for his photographs from the Photographic League of Great Britain with his photos of penguins in the Antartica.
“It was a phenomenal place, like the Garden of Eden, with penguins everywhere”
His intention now is to visit China to take photographs, but he has also been busy capturing scenes in Pen Llŷn, and of the old slate quarries in the north.
