Exhibiting on the landing space in the Gallery opening show is Bev Dunne. This is not the first time the artist has appeared at the Plas. She exhibited in the Arts North Wales group exhibition in 2006, and in the same year became a runner-up in our ‘Spirit of Llŷn’ art competition.
Born in Yorkshire in 1964 Bev Dunne spent most of her life in North Cheshire before moving to North West Wales. Originally a Landscape Architect, in 1998 she was given the opportunity to study for a Diploma in Art at Northwich Collage. She is now a full-time artist with her own shop and gallery in Porthmadog, Gwynedd.
"My art is a diverse and constant exploration of my environment, whether it be landscape, family or imagination."
Since 2004 Bev Dunne has been involved with various exhibitions over Wales, from Penrhyn Castle, Bangor to Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
The work in this exhibition explores her diversity and as a multi medium artist. Her paintings sit between abstraction and realty, fantasy and legend. Her landscapes give a sense of depth and movement, and a feel of a new perspective; the interaction between land, sea and sky immerses the viewer in the landscape.
