Oriel Plas Glyn-Y-Weddw WEDDINGS
Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies. In recent years it has become a very popular matrimonial venue due to its romantic setting.
The gallery also has a full alcohol licence and quality caterers in situ. We can therefore offer a variety of Wedding packages, from ceremony only to ceremony and catering all-day bookings. Please contact the gallery for further details.
At Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, we can cater for your Wedding from ceremony to reception. What finer location in which to get married?
On clear days the backdrop of Cardigan Bay and the mountains of Snowdonia are unrivalled for your special day's photographs. During the autumn months the woodland on the adjacent headland is ablaze with reds, golds and browns and the spring produces a fine display of daffodils.
The grand staircase provides a dramatic backcloth for interior photographs as does the fireplace in the main hall, in which log fires burn on cooler days.
The Wedding Ceremony
The interior of the gallery with its Victorian Gothic architecture is the location for the wedding ceremony. Weddings take place in the main Gallery, which can accommodate up to 100 guests. The registrar Joan Pritchard who performs the wedding ceremony must be booked separately.
Weddings are performed at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw during the hours as shown below and Saturday mornings if required.

The Wedding Reception
All catering for weddings is done by Caffi'r Oriel, who also manage the Gallery's tea room. The Gallery can accommodate up to 80 people for a sit down meal and 100 for a buffet. All catering costs are to be negotiated with the Gallery and prices vary according to requirements.
Evening Entertainment
Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw frequently holds evening concerts with pianists and singers. Should you require us to source any entertainment we will do our utmost to help.
Accommodation
At the rear annexe of the gallery we have a self catering let that the Wales Tourist Board have graded 3 Star, that can sleep up to 12 people.
Restrictions
Due to licensing laws and insurance limitations, there are some restrictions to the use of the Gallery. These MUST be noted at all times.
- The WHOLE building is a NON-SMOKING area. Our sensitive fire alarms will activate and call the Fire Brigade should smoke be detected in the building.
- No paper confetti must be scattered in or around the building. We sell Mis Mêl natural dried rose petal confetti at £2.50 per packet in our Craft Shop.
- All evening functions must end by 11.30pm.
- No drinks are permitted upstairs.
- Any breakages must be paid for.
Prices
The prices below are for the hire of the Gallery and do not include catering.
The Gallery will be closed to the general public during your wedding and reception.
- Civil Wedding Service (1hr hire of Gallery) on a weekend - £750
- Civil Wedding Service (1 hr hire of Gallery) on a weekday - £450
- Full day hire of Gallery on a weekend - £2,500
- Half day hire of Gallery on a weekend (4pm onwards) - £1,750
- Full day hire of Gallery on a weekday - £1,750
- Half day hire of Gallery on a weekday - £1,250
- Wedding Reception Packages - to include catering and Gallery premises hire.
- Full packages also optional, to include flower arrangements, luxury car hire, harpists/musicians, equipment hire etc.
We do not take wedding bookings for any dates that fall during school holiday periods (between the months of APRIL to OCTOBER).
In exceptional circumstances we may allow for such bookings to take place but give warning herein that the gallery hire fees during these periods are doubled.
