Also known as cire Perdue, the artist starts with a full-sized model of the sculpture made in clay. A silicon rubber mould is taken from the clay pattern, which is then held in place by a plaster jacket of many pieces.
Exhibiting in the Great Hall will be local Welsh artist Stephen J Owen. The self taught Caernarfon born artist is also a regular exhibitor here at Plas Glyn y Weddw. He enjoyed art as a subject at school and was influenced and encouraged to paint by his art teacher William Selwyn. Stephen has his own unique style of painting; his passion continues to evolve and develop and he is constantly seeking inspiration from his surroundings. This new body of work has been influenced greatly by his recent move to Groeslon.
