Alison Mercer

Based in North Wales Alison Mercer is an international Fibre Artist, exhibitor and educator within applied art and design with twenty years experience and expertise.

 

Attains and facilitates a wide vocabulary of unique skills and experience. Pioneers and initiates many innovative projects in the community and confidently collaborates with public organisations within Wales.

Contributed and launched the 'Arts in Health and Wellbeing Action Plan'alongside the Arts Council for Wales at the Millennium Centre in 2010.

Currently Community Artist in Residence at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Arts Council of Wales grant recipient to attend SOFA New York in 2011.

"As an artist stitch communicates many personal meanings, ancestral, devotional, subliminal, a connection to the world around me. I 'stitch' to discover who I am and why it is so important to me. Each object I create becomes a revelation and a token of memory."
