Clive Burnell

After a long career in the police service Clive Burnell became a full time artist in 2003. In 2004 he was runner-up in the ' Spirit of Llyn ' art competition before taking the main prize in the same competition in 2006. He has exhibited at galleries throughout Wales and the west country including St Davids Hall, Cardiff, The South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts, Exeter ( Phillip Malone award prizewinner ) and the Royal West of England gallery, Bristol.

Clive Burnell uses oils and acrylics and often incorprates abstract elements in his work in order to create an image of time and place. His most recent work draws heavily on landscapes in Wales and Devon and include a number of closely observed oil paintings on rivers near his birthplace ( Pencoed, South Wales ) and the East Devon area where he lives.'
